Supply chain management (SCM) is the process of managing a network of businesses, activities, and resources involved in the production and delivery of products and services to meet customer demands. SCM enables the efficient planning, coordination, and control of all the activities in the supply chain from raw material acquisition and production to delivery of the final product to the customer. It includes activities such as inventory management, supplier selection, quality control, order fulfillment, and logistics. The ultimate goal of SCM is to maximize customer satisfaction by providing the right product, in the right place, at the right time whilst managing costs and meeting customer demands.
