The soccer stadium in Namchi, South Sikkim would be the first in India to be named after a footballer.  

A soccer stadium named after legendary Bhaichung Bhutia might be inaugurated in Namchi — 25 kilometres away from the previous India captain’s birthplace, Tinkitam within the district of South Sikkim.

“It is our tribute to probably the greatest Indian footballers.
