“Within the notices served to Khadi Necessities and Khadi International within the first week of August, KVIC has requested them to instantly cease promoting or selling its merchandise utilizing the model identify “Khadi” whereas additionally canceling the domains www.khadiessentials.com and www.khadiglobalstore.com respectively. The 2 corporations have additionally been advised to discontinue their social media handles on numerous platforms like Twitter, Fb, Instagram, and Pinterest,” the discharge mentioned.
The assertion mentioned the 2 corporations have strictly been advised to instantly cease promoting merchandise utilizing the model identify of “Khadi” and destroy all product packaging, labels, publicity materials, signboards, and every other enterprise stationery utilizing the model names Khadi Necessities and Khadi International respectively.

As per the discharge, KVIC chairman Vinai Kumar Saxena in an announcement mentioned that any misuse of the model identify “Khadi” has a direct bearing on the livelihood of our artisans who’re making real handcrafted merchandise in distant elements of India.
“KVIC will take stern motion in opposition to any particular person or agency misusing the model identify Khadi. That is to safeguard the curiosity of Khadi artisans and stop the sale of any spurious product within the identify of Khadi,” Saxena mentioned.

KVIC has sought damages to the tune of Rs 500 crore from Fabindia which is pending earlier than the Mumbai Excessive Court docket,” the discharge added.
